Under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp following his arrival in 2015, the Reds won every available trophy, including the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019, the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League, and the Premier League in the 2019/20 season, ending a 30-year league title drought.
The side also claimed an FA Cup and Carabao Cup double last season, and reached the final of the Champion League, which they lost to Real Madrid.
However, the team has suffered a huge drop-off in this campaign, with many of their old guard having taken a big dip in form and performances.
There have thus been suggestions that an overhaul needs to take place to reinvigorate the side.
The club has a few players who have expiring contracts at the end of the season, including Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Another, Roberto Firmino, has now decided he will move on from Anfield when his deal comes to an end in June, according to Sky Germany.
Klopp is said to have expressed his desire for the Brazilian to stay at Anfield, but the striker is understood to have informed the club of his decision for a new challenge on Friday.
The 31-year-old was a key member of the Liverpool attack during their most glittering era in decades, blossoming under Klopp after joining from Hoffenheim in 2015.
However, he has found game time hard to come by over the past couple of years, mainly due to injuries but also because he dropped down the pecking order following the signings of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.
