Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has given some special praise to Mohamed Salah, whose contract with the club expires next year.
The Reds find themselves in a predicament heading into the new year, with Salah, Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold heading to the final six months of their respective contracts.
While Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold have been quiet about the issue, Salah has been quite vocal after revealing in November that the club had not offered him a new proposal.

However, Salah continues to perform at a high level for the league leaders and Van Dijk feels this could be the Egyptian's best season at Anfield.
"The numbers speak for themselves," Van Dijk said, as per Goal.
"He's a very special athlete. He's done amazingly for the club and hopefully, he can play his best season ever for the club, stay important with his goals and assists and be clinical.
"He is a professional. We've been there, he's been there, so onto the next (game). And next season? I don't know."
Salah has registered 15 goals in the league, level with Manchester City's Erling Haaland while he has also contributed with 11 assists.
