Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made a shock admission after his side secured the Premier League title for a record-breaking fourth consecutive time on Sunday.
Phil Foden netted twice to help the Citizens pick up a 3-1 win over West Ham United to secure another top-flight triumph, as well as maintain their status as the best team in England.
After the winger's double in the opening 20 minutes, Mohammed Kudus made it an interesting affair when he found the back of the net just before half-time.
However, the ever-reliable Rodri struck in the 59th minute to ensure that the Citizens would become the first team ever to win four EPL titles in a row.
With the Spanish tactician having led the side to every possible trophy during his time at the club, and having one year remaining on his contract, he shockingly revealed that next season may be his last at the Etihad.
"The reality is I'm closer to leaving than to staying," Guardiola told Sky Sports after securing the league.
"It's eight years, will be nine. Right now, my feeling is I want to stay next season. We talked with the club, we have time to talk next season because I have to see the players as well, if they follow me, they follow us.
"I want to stay next season. During the season, we will talk. But after eight, nine years..."
The former Barcelona manager went on to add that he felt a similar way at the end of the previous campaign, but revealed the prospect of becoming the first side to complete the four-peat sparked his motivation.
"I had that feeling last season [after we won the treble]," Guardiola continued.
"We were in Istanbul and I said, 'It's over. What am I doing here? There is nothing left.'
"But I have a contract. I am here and I am still enjoying some of the moments, sometimes tired but some of them I love.
"And after a few days, we start playing good, winning games, different players, and we start to think about how no one has done four in a row. Why not try it?
"But, next season, right now, I am not able to know what will be the motivation to do it. It is difficult sometimes to find it when everything is done."
Next, Guardiola will turn his attention to facing local rivals Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup, which is scheduled for Saturday 25 May.
The tactician is fired up by the fact that no team has managed to secure back-to-back domestic doubles by winning the EPL and what many be consider to be England's most prestigious cup trophy on consecutive occasions.
"Now, I am feeling it is done. What next? I don't know, right now. Well, I know it is FA Cup," Guardiola added
"I know no team in all history, Gary Lineker told me, I did not know it, no team has done back-to-back Premier Leagues and FA Cups.
"So, it is our rivals, and what I want is for my players to enjoy it for two or three days and then we have two or three days to prepare the final."
