Mothiba has been the subject of transfer speculation in France, where reports have linked him with a move from Lille to RC Strasbourg.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise in the last 18 months, having impressed during a loan spell with Ligue 2 side Valenciennes last year before earning an early recall to the Lille first team in January.

The budding forward scored on his topflight debut against Nantes in February and quickly cemented his place in The Great Danes' setup, going on to register five goals in his 14 league appearances.

Mothiba has thus caught they eye of other French clubs, with Strasbourg now believed to be in negotiations for a permanent move.

According to locally-based news publication L'Equipe – custodians of the famous Ballon d'Or award – the Diambers Academy graduate arrived in Strasbourg on Wednesday afternoon to undergo a medical before signing his contract.

With the transfer window set to close on Friday, 'Le Racing' are expected to announce the transfer before then.

Meanwhile, Mothiba will report for Bafana duty next week Sunday as Stuart Baxter looks to utilise the burly forward in the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Libya on September 8.
