Barcelona coach Luis Enrique very pleased with how the club has strengthened

Unlike some of Europe's top clubs, Barcelona have not splashed the cash on one big-money signing in the off-season, instead opting to reinforce their squad with four new players for a combined total of €80 million.

Andre Gomes, Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne and Denis Suarez are the four players added to Barca's squad, and Enrique is pleased with the quality of the players at his disposal ahead of the pre-season friendly against Sampdoria on Wednesday.

"We have reinforced the squad brilliantly," Luis Enrique told reporters. "On paper, I have the best squad in my three years here [as coach].

"All the new players have settled in well. They have quality and will have to compete for a place."

However, Enrique has admitted that he would like to add more fresh faces to his side ahead of the 2016/17 La Liga campaign, should the right players become available.

He added: "While the window remains open, we are ready to strengthen our squad. That is the intelligent way to look at things.

"If we can improve what we have, we move forward."
