Ex-Juventus and Senegal striker poised for Premier League switch after blistering start to 2018/19 season

Messi and Ronaldo have maintained their prolific exploits this season in Serie A and LaLiga football respectively - with the Argentina maestro scoring nine in 11 outings, while the Juventus forward has netted nine in 13 appearances.

However, Mbaye Diagne currently plying his trade in the Turkish Super Lig has emerged as one of Europe's standout performers with 14 goals and two assists in 13 league apperances for Kasimpasa AS.

After stints in Italy, Belgium, France and Saudi Arabia, the 27-year-old, who's been capped three times by the Senegal national team has made an immediate impact since his arrival from Chinese Super League side TJ Teda.

Standing at 1.93m, Diagne has lifted the unfancied side to an unlikely title challenge as they trail leaders Istanbul Basaksehir by just five points, which has attracted the interest of Wolverhampton, as manager Nuno Esperito Santo looks to add firepower to the side aiming to secure their top-flight status.

According to ESPN, Wolves have already opened talks over a potential January transfer, while Turkish news outlet Sporx claim Kasimpasa have set a £9m valuation for the striker they acquired on a free in the off-season.

However, with an array of suitors for one of Africa's most prolific marksman, a bidding war is likely to ensue over the coming months.
