All indications are that the Germany international will become a Manchester City player ahead of the new Premier League season with £37m fee plus add-ons being reported in the press.
City boss Pep Guardiola recently expressed his interest in signing Sane while the player himself made it clear to Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel in the off-season that he saw his future away from the club.
Sane started his career with SG Wattenscheid before joining Schalke for the first time as a youth team player in 2005 ahead of a switch to Bayer Leverkusen - he returned to the Veltins-Arena in 2011.
Having made his Bundesliga debut in April 2014, Sane went on to score eight goals in 33 appearances last term in a season where Schalke finished fifth.
