The Guardian reports that City have triggered a £13.8-million release clause in his contract, and that the Celta Vigo man has agreed a three-year deal.
Staying in England, The Daily Mirror claims that Chelsea have made a £19.2-million bid for Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 25-year-old Senegalese defender is currently on the books of Inter Milan, who could off-set his loss with a move for Martin Skrtel.
The veteran defender is expected to leave Liverpool this summer, with Turkish side Fenerbahce having already tabled a £5.5-million bid.
“Soon we will know more,” Skrtel’s agent Karol Csono told FcInternews.it. “There are many clubs interested in him. Inter too, representing a concrete possibility.”
Another Italian club, Juventus, have given up their pursuit of Javier Mascherano.
“Barcelona do not want to sell, therefore it is a closed case,” Juve’s managing director Beppe Marotta told Marca.
