Mandla Masango still frustrated at Randers

Buddy Farah also hinted that an opportunity arose for Masango to return to South Africa in this most recent transfer window, but that the 27-year-old wanted to remain in Europe.

Masango is furious that Randers turned down an offer from another, bigger Danish club Aalborg and says his current team have priced him out of the market.

“Mandla has made it very clear what he wants. It is not a happy marriage with Randers and he wants out of it,” Farah told tipsbladet.dk.

“They have destroyed everything, and there have been a lot of problems that Randers themselves have created.

“The situation has not really changed in the last eight weeks. There was a club, Aalborg, who wanted him, and they came with a fine offer but Randers rejected it.

“He [Masango] is not happy when he gets up in the morning. He does not thrive in a small town, the club is too unambitious, they play bad football, and it does not appeal to Mandla. He wants to play in Europe [the UEFA club competitions], and it's not going to happen with Randers.”

Farrah said on Wednesday: “He has the opportunity to return home to South Africa, but otherwise the possibilities are becoming depleted. He wants better than playing at Randers. Anything is almost better for Masango than being at Randers.”

It appears that Masango’s bridges have been burnt at Randers, which means he will likely have a protracted spell on the sidelines. Given his importance to the national team in the last 18 months, it is not a healthy situation for club or country.
