Monaco president Vadim Vasilyev questions Financial Fair Play rules after PSG sign Kylian Mbappe

PSG completed the signing of the 18-year-old starlet on a one-year loan deal with the option to make the move permanent for €180m.

Les Parisians also splashed €222m on Brazil superstar Neymar midway through the recently-concluded transfer period, leaving Monaco chief Vasilyev scratching his head as to how PSG managed to avoid breaking FFF rules.

“It was a very tough transfer. At the start, we didn't want to let him go to a direct competitor, but I've always shared a good relationship with his father, who is also his agent. They convinced me,” the Russian told TASS.

“But the talks with Paris were very complicated. We couldn't understand how they could sign the player without breaking FFP.”

Vasilyev did, however, admit the offer for Mbappe is arguably too good to turn down, adding: “It was a deal between three parties. The Mbappes always said that it was going to be done by the best terms for us.

|Paris [Saint-Germain] paid the price we asked, which was a much as we got from other European clubs.”
