The Polish striker had another blinding season at Bayern Munich, scoring a record 30 Bundesliga goals, leading to Real making the first move.
“Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago; we listened to everything they said. It’s a big and exciting club,” the player’s agent Cezary Kucharski told Spiegel.
“We have informed FC Bayern that we’ve held talks with Madrid.”
In other Real news, midfielder Toni Kroos says he is unperturbed by reports suggesting the club wants to sell him to Manchester City.
“The media now says a lot hinges on the outcome of the [Champions League] Final, but I have played two very good years here and have taken a central position in our game right from the beginning.”
