Sevilla sign Jesus Navas from Manchester City

Navas started his career in Sevilla’s youth side back in 2000. Over a decade later, he became a regular for the first team and a star in his own right. He scored 34 times in an outstanding total of 394 appearances in all competitions for Sevilla. This caught the attention of English giants City, who signed him in 2013 for £15million.

The 31-year-old spent four seasons with the Etihad side, helping them win the Premier League title in the 2013/14 season.

City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain has wished Navas all the best in his career.

“Working with Jesus has been a pleasure. His hard work, dedication, professionalism and desire to win have been apparent every single day.  He showed his versatility numerous times this season, operating at fullback and doing so with distinction. I wish him all the best with his next move,” he told City’s website.

Navas will be welcomed by the club that raised him, and joins another former Citizens winger Nolito in Spain. Both could make an appearance for the first team in their opening league game against Espanyol on August 19.
