“Stoke City are delighted to announce the signing of Joe Allen from Liverpool for a fee which could rise to £13m,” read a statement on the club’s website.
“The 26-year-old, who shone for Wales as they reached the semi-final of this summer’s European Championships, has penned a five-year deal at the bet365 Stadium.”
The Welshman spent four years with the Reds after joining from Swansea City in 2012, notching up seven goals in 132 appearances on Merseyside.
And the midfielder, who will don the number four jersey for the Potters, says he’s excited at his new adventure ahead.
“It’s been a whirlwind 48 hours for me but I am delighted to have finally been able to put pen to paper,” he said.
“I was really excited as soon as I heard of the club’s interest and it wasn’t a difficult decision for me to make.
“I am incredibly excited about my future here at Stoke City.”
Earlier on Monday, Stoke announced the signing of teenage winger Ramadan Sobhi from Al-Ahly.
