Wayne Rooney thanks all those at Manchester United who helped him to his vast success

The England international bid farewell to Old Trafford this weekend after 13 years at the English giants, where he scored 253 goals to help the club to 16 titles.

And, as he prepares to head back to boyhood club Everton, the 31-year-old moved to thank all those who helped him achieve such success at the club.

"Just want to say a massive thank you to everybody at Manchester United," the striker posted on social media.

"Thanks to the boards over the years, the managers and coaches I've played under, the staff I've worked with, the team mates I've played alongside, and finally the amazing fans that I've been lucky enough to have played for. Thanks for the memories!"
