FA Cup

Manchester United bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup after a 3-1 loss away to Leicester City on Sunday evening.

The away side targeted a quick start to the match following the first 12 minutes through the head of Harry Maguire from a corner-kick, but goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel saved comfortably.

The Foxes struck gold five minutes towards the half-hour mark as Kelechi Iheanacho intercepted a loose pass from Fred to round Henderson for a simple finish.

United bounced back inside 38 minutes and drew level through a low first-time finish from Mason Greenwood following good work near the byline by Pogba.

Following a strong finish to the first half, Leicester went on to reclaim the lead 52 minutes in as a one-two from Iheanacho picked Youri Tielemans to go on and bustle the bottom-corner.

Vardy should've given the Foxes a third six minutes later with a shot from the near side of the area after he opened an angle, but the forward dragged inches wide in the end.

The Red Devils looked to get back in the tie following the midway point of the second half, and introduced Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani all at once.

No comeback happened as Iheanacho headed a free-kick from Marc Albrighton in off the underside of the crossbar inside the last ten minutes to wrap up the match as a contest.

Chelsea progressed to the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals after defeating Sheffield United 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Callum Hudson-Odoi looked to bring the host to life in the opening exchanges with a probing attempt from close-range, but he was unable to bring goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to work.

The breakthrough came from the side of the Blues midway in the first half after Oliver Norwood helped a low shot from Ben Chilwell following a corner-kick into his own net.

Chelsea did manage to carve a few openings to increase their tally closer to the halftime interval, but Pulisic and Chilwell amongst others failed to make the most of the opportunities.

Pulisic was sent clear two minutes towards halftime after he intercepted a pass from the edge of the area by Norwood, but Ramsdale charged out quickly to smother the attacker.

Hudson-Odoi was in on goal again a few minutes later when he cut into the box from a quick break-attack to get a shot away, but the former fired high and wide of the top corner.

Chelsea made a double substitution towards the last ten minutes in Kai Havertz for Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech entering for Gilmour.

It proved to be an inspired substitution after Ziyech started a move from Phil Jagielka's header at the death before going on to fire across goal and into the bottom-corner to see out the win.
