Man Utd stage comeback victory in FA Cup

Manchester United staged a late comeback to see defeat nine-man Fulham 3-1 to secure a spot in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday evening.

United were without the suspended Casemiro, but were able to call on Marcel Sabitzer as Jadon Sancho came in for Antony, who dropped to the bench.

Fulham caused the first scare two minutes in with a looping header in the area by Issa Diop, but United goalkeeper David De Gea tipped for a corner-kick.

The Red Devils didn't sit back and allow the Cottagers to dictate terms but emerged on the break later on before Marcus Rashford's low pass feed Wout Weghorst to cut-in and drew a save off Bernd Leno.

United carried the momentum ahead of halftime and carved another opening when Bruno Fernandes played a low pass to Sabitzer to take aim from range, but Bernd Leno parried.

Although after the break, the Cottagers were energised following a rather tough opening spell and had Willian cut inside from a ball to the far side and stung the gloves of David De Gea with a curling shot.

United trailed the away outfit five minutes from resumption when Aleksandar Mitrovic charged on a loose ball in the box following a corner-kick and tucked in close proximity.

The Red Devils regained momentum levelled after Fernandes fired in from the penalty spot after Willian handled Sancho's shot on the line before seeing red along with Mitrovic, who shoved the referee.

United were ahead in less than minutes when Luke Shaw dropped down the left of the area and played a low cross for Sabitzer to profit from a few yards with a Video Assistant Review check giving the clear.

With the lead intact, the Red Devils added a substitution to caution their overall play and had Rashford withdrawn and Fred thrown in.

United wrapped up the contest at the death when Fernandes raced onto a ball from Fred and positioned perfectly to slot into the top corner and directed his side to the last four.
