Defending champions Liverpool defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 to secure their spot in the FA Cup fourth round on Tuesday night.
Thiago Alcantara, Cody Gakpo and Ibrahima Konate were the only players to survive from Liverpool's big defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion over the weekend.
The Reds got off to the perfect start when Harvey Elliot surged towards the box and unleashed a powerful strike from distance that sailed into the top corner on 12 minutes.
Jurgen Klopp's men grew stronger as the first half went on, but they failed to carve out clear-cut openings for the likes of Gakpo and Salah.
Wolves used the pace of Adama Troare to good effect in the first half and it nearly paid off when the Spain international broke free down the right side of the box, but he blasted well wide of the goal.
Even with the introduction of Mathues Nunes, who has been linked with Liverpool, in the second half, the home side still found it tough carve out chances in the final third.
Mohamed Salah was eventually introduced in the 66th minute in place of Gakpo, while Nathan Philips and Curtis Jones were also introduced by Klopp.
With chances in open play hard to come by, Wolves nearly pulled themselves level in the 73rd minute from a set-piece, with Ruben Neves firing inches over the crossbar.
Veteran forward Diego Costa nearly made an immediate impact in the final five minutes after setting up Matheus Cunha, who sent his first-time volley wide of the mark.
Wolves threw everything forward in search of an equaliser late on, but Klopp's remained resolute at the back and held on for the win.
Liverpool will now face Brighton and Hove Albion in the next round.
