FA Cup Report: Marine v Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs retained Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura from the side that edged Brentford in the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Tuesday, as Gareth Bale and Heung-Min Son started on the bench.

A scary moment appeared for the visitors towards 20 minutes when Neil Kengni cracked the top of the crossbar following a left-footed shot from range.

However, the fears were allayed 24 minutes gone as Carlos Vinicius latched onto a cross-field ball at the back-post to thump in from point-blank range after Marine failed to clear their lines.

Vinicius completed his brace eight minutes later when he helped a loose ball from a palm by Bayleigh Passant into the net following Matt Doherty's flying attempt at the back-post.

It got worse for Marine minutes thereafter as Moura delivered a free-kick from the edge of the six-yard area into the top corner following a foul.

Vinicius grabbed his hat-trick seven minutes to the break when he tucked a looping ball in the centre of the area beyond the reach of Passant after a string of short passes near the area.

Japhet Tanganga came on for Toby Alderweireld as 16-year-old Alfie Devine made his first-team debut after filling in the place of Sissoko.

Devine's debut got more remarkable 60 minutes in when he opened an angle on the near side of the area to drill in a low shot.

Spurs received more breakthroughs in the closing moments of the match through amongst others Vinicius and Gedson Fernandes, but five goals were enough on the night.
