Bafana Bafana international Percy Tau made his debut for Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup on Sunday evening.
Brighton recalled the 26-year-old from his loan spell at Belgian giants Anderlecht, where he registered four goals and one assist in 12 league encounters.
Tau was named on the bench against Newport County but with the top flight side struggling to breakthrough, the South African attacker came on for Alireza Jahanbakhsh in the 70th minute.
The Bafana attacker was a livewire for Brighton as he set up a good chance for Neil Maupauy in the 78th minute while he managed to force Newport goalkeeper Thomas King into a save minutes later.

Brighton were seconds away from winning the tie in regulation time after Solly March's late strike, but Adam Webster's own goal in stoppage time sent the game to extra-trime.
The Premier League side would need penalties to overcome Newport to secure their spot in the fourth round of the cup.
Tau and Brighton now turn their attention to Wednesday's league trip to Manchester City.
