A Barcelona star has reportedly demanded to leave for free in the January transfer window.
The Catalan giants parted ways with more than 10 players ahead of the 2022/23 season as reports suggested at the time that the club were looking to lower their wage bill to ensure that the signings could be registered.
While many exited the side, there were two players in Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong who were widely linked with an exit but ended up staying with the Spanish team.

The former was expected to be released and join Juventus but a deal failed to materialise while there was rumours that Manchester United wanted the Dutch forward on loan.
The 28-year-old was said to be surplus to requirements following Robert Lewandowski's move from Bayern Munich.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Depay wants to leave Barca as a free agent in January to ensure that the club do not make profit from selling him.
The Netherlands star's contract expires at the end of this season leaving the player with a chance to join any club of his choice on a pre-contract.

It is said that Depay has no intention of renewing his deal with the LaLiga giants.
