With the defender set to be out of action for at least four months, reports in Spain claimed that the club were not going to register the player until January.
It is believed the club will look to create salary cap space for the incoming signings who need to be registered on LaLiga's books.
However, Uruguayan journalist Nicolás Saavedra reports that Araujo is not happy with that idea as he believes he can return to action before January.
Saavedra claims that the Uruguayan defender is now considering his future with the Catalan giants, especially since the contract extension has not ben agreed.
