Zaha set for shock move to European giants?

A top European club has now reportedly set its sights on Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha, who will be a free agent at the end of the season.

With the Crystal Palace star having less than two months left on his current deal, it is understood that the London outfit has offered him a lucrative contract extension worth a reported £200 000 (R4.5 million) a week, the highest in the club's history.

However, the winger is said have refused the option of staying at Selhurst Park and wants a new challenge, preferably at a club competing in European competition instead.

This has seemingly piqued the interest of a number of teams in Europe, including AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Olympique Marseille, while he is also thought to have received a lucrative offer from a club in Saudi Arabia.

Now, per Fichajes, FC Barcelona are weighing up the possibility of signing the wantaway Ivorian, with the Spanish giants known to be in the market for free agents given their delicate financial situation.

Reports in Spain also suggest that they are open to selling some their more valuable attackers, including Raphinha, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres, in order to alleviate their wage bill and generate much-needed funds through player sales.

This would thus create room for Zaha at the Blaugrana, and would see Barca continue their trend of acquiring out-of-contract players as they did with Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie and Eric Garcia, among others, in recent months.

Should the move go through, it would be Zaha's first stint outside England, having spent the past decade in the English top flight, where he boasts a record of 68 goals and 29 assists in 303 Premier League games.

However, the player could also remain in the Premier League as he has been linked with short trip to another London team.
