2022 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Wrap

Ethiopia 1-1 Ghana

Ghana's chances of qualifying took a knock after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Ethiopia in their penultimate Group G match at Orlando Stadium.

Andre Ayew broke the deadlock for the Black Stars midway through the first stanza but Gataneh Kebede levelled matters for the Walia ibex 18 minutes before time.

Ghana moved level on points with leaders Bafana Bafana in the group but had to settle for second place due to an inferior goal difference.

Uganda 1-1 Kenya

Uganda are out of the running for a play-off spot in Group E after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kenya in the East Africa derby at St. Mary's Stadium.

Michael Olunga broke the deadlock for Harambee Stars just after the hour-mark but Fahad Bayo earned the Cranes the share of the spoils with the equaliser in the last minute.

Tanzania 0-3 Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo kept their slim hopes of qualifying alive after a commanding 3-0 win over Tanzania in Group J at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

Gael Kakuta gave DR Congo an early lead and it took up until the 66th minute for Cape Town City defender Fasika Idumba to double their lead and Ben Malango Ngita sealed the three points with the third goal five minutes before time.

Rwanda 0-3 Mali

Mali advanced to the final round of qualification with a match to spare after thrashing ten-man Rwanda 3-0 in Group E at Stade Regional de Nyamirambo.

Rwanda had a horrible start after they were reduced to ten men in just the eighth minute after Bizimana Djihad was sent off.

Moussa Djenepo opened the scoring for Mali in the 19th minute, Ibrahima Kone doubled their lead a minute later and Kalifa Coulibaly sealed the win with the third goal two minutes before time.

Congo-Brazzaville 1-1 Namibia

Second-placed Namibia, who were already out of the running in Group H were held to a 1-1 draw by Congo-Brazzaville at Stade Alphonse Massamba-Debat.

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile broke the deadlock for the Brave Warriors just before the half-time break but Guy Mbenza levelled matters for Congo early in the second stanza.

Benin 2-0 Madagascar

Benin mvoed two points clear at the top of Group J ahead of the final round-robin matches after a 2-0 win over Madagascar at Stade de I'Amitie.

Jodel Dossou broke the deadlock for Benin on the stroke of half-time and Steve Mounie doubled their lead 11 minutes before time.
