2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

Portugal took control of Group A after a resounding 3-0 win over Azerbaijan at Baku Olympic Stadium.

A Selecao were without Cristiano Ronaldo, who was suspended and it took just 26 minutes for Bernardo SIlva to break the deadlock for the visitors before Andre Silva doubled their lead five minutes later.

Diogo Jota wrapped up the three points for Portugal with the third goal in the last quarter of an hour.

France returned to winning ways in Group D after beating Finland 2-0 at Groupama Academy Stadium.

Antoine Griezmann broke the deadlock for Les Bleus in the 25th minute and secured the three points for the hosts with the second goal nine minutes after the half-time break.

Netherlands went to the top of Group G after humiliating ten-man Turkey 6-1, with Memphis Depay netting a hat-trick at Johan Cruijff Arena.

Davy Klaassen set the tone for the Dutch with the opener within the first minute and Depay netted twice in the first stanza before Turkey were reduced to ten men on the stroke of half-time after Caglar Soyouncu got a second booking and was sent off.

Depay made it 4-0 for the Oranje nine minutes from the half-time break before late goals by Guus Til and Donyell Malen completed the rout.

Croatia went to the top of Group H by a better goal difference after thrashing Slovenia 3-0 at Stadion Poljud.

Marko Livaja broke the deadlock for the Checkered Ones just after the half-hour mark, while Mario Pasalic doubled their lead just after the hour-mark and Nikola Vlasic rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.

Denmark got closer to clinching automatic qualification at the top of Group F after hammering Israel 5-0 at Parken Stadium.

Yussuf Poulsen, Simon Kjaer and Andreas Skov Olsen gave the Danes a comfortable 3-0 before half-time while Thomas Delaney and Andreas Cornelius netted second-half goals to seal an emphatic win.
