2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

World champions France thrashed Kazakhstan 8-0 at the Parc des Princes, with four goals from Kylian Mbappe to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

Mbappe struck twice within ten minutes and completed his hat-trick just before the break, but Kazakhstan's miserable evening continued in the second half.

This after Les Bleus ran riot with Mbappe bagging a fourth before Karim Benzema had clinched a double, while Adrien Rabiot and Antoine Griezmann joined to complete the rout.

Netherlands squandered a two-goal lead to play a 2-2 draw against Montenegro in Podgorica to derail their qualification to the finals

FC Barcelona man Memphis Depay struck first from the penalty- spot in the first half and completed a brace early at the restart to steer the Oranje on their way.

However, Ilija Vukotic and Nikola Vujnovic spoiled the Dutch party in the last eight minutes to see the spoils shared.

Wales kept their play-off aspirations alive in Group E after slapping Belarus 5-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium, as Gareth Bale featured from the onset.

Aaron Ramsey secured a brace with one from the penalty spot and saw Nathan Williams and Ben Davies compound the visiting team's misery, who had Artyom Kontsevoy bagging their consolation.

Belgium also claimed their ticket to the finals next year in the Middle East with a thorough 3-1 victory over Estonia.

Former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke broke the deadlock earlier on before Yannick Carrasco and Thorgan Hazard made the result safe amidst Erik Sorga putting one in at the other end.

Turkey moved closer to the finals following a one-sided 6-0 victory over Gibraltar, who finished with ten players to go second in Group G.

Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu and a brace from Halil Dervisoglu handed Turkey three goals at halftime whilst Jayce Olivero saw red on the path of Gibraltar.

Goals from Merih Demiral, Serdar Dursun and Mert Muldur following the second half completed the routing of the visiting team.
