African FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

Ghana returned to winning ways in Group G after after defeating Zimbabwe 3-1 at Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Mohammed Kudus got an early lead for the Black Stars and Knowledge Musona levelled matters for the Warriors early in the second stanza from the penalty spot.

However, Thomas Partey restored the lead for the hosts in the 66th minute and Andre Ayew sealed the deal for Ghana with their third goal three minutes before time, as the Black Stars moved up to within one point of leaders Bafana in second place in the section.

Guinea remain winless in Group I after they were held in a four-goal thriller by Sudan at Stade Adrar.

After a goalless first stanza, Jose Kante eventually broke the deadlock for Guinea early in the second stanza but Ahmed Mahmoud equalised for Sudan in the 64th minute.

Mohamed Bayo restored the lead for the hosts three minutes later but Amir Kamal levelled matters for the visitors two minutes before time.

Togo got their first point in Group H after playing to a 1-1 draw with winless Congo-Brazzaville at Stade de Kegue.

Alaixys Romao's own goal in the 20th minute gave Congo the lead and Euloge Placca got the equaliser for Togo just before the hour-mark.

Congo finished the game with ten men after Fernand Mayembo was red-carded in stoppage time.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane was on the scoresheet as Senegal maintained their perfect record in Group H with a 4-1 hammering of Namibia at Stade Lat Dior.

Idrissa Gueye and Famara Diedhiou gave the Lions of Teranga a two-goal lead at the half-time break, while Mane made it 3-0 early in the second stanza.

Baroka midfielder Joslin Kamatuka pulled a goal back for the Brave Warriors in the last 14 minutes but Keita Balde put the game to bed for Senegal six minutes before time.

Morocco remain perfect at the top of Group I after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau at Stade Mohammed V.

Ayoub El Kaabi opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions in the tenth minute and Aymen Barkok doubled their lead ten minutes later.

El Kaabi put the game out of sight for Morocco 21 minutes before time and also got his brace in the process.
