A former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president has urged the Black Stars to recall the nation's all-time leading goalscorer Asamoah Gyan for the 2022 FIFA World and bring him on for at least 10 minutes in each game at the showpiece.
With the World Cup in Qatar set to get underway next month, there have been some calls for the Black Stars to select the veteran striker for the tournament.

The centre-forward has not featured for his country since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, and has been without a club since leaving local outfit Legon Cities FC in October 2021. However, in August this year, the 36-year-old confirmed he was eyeing a shock return to the national side for the World Cup.
"Talent-wise, everything is there already, so I just have to prepare physically," he told BBC World Service.
"The World Cup is every footballer's dream. I think I've got a bit of energy left in me to prove myself once again.
"I've been out for almost two years now due to injuries but I just need to get my body back in shape.
"It's an eight-week programme, and according to my physical instructor I'm improving faster than he thought."
Having infamously missed a crucial extra-time penalty against Uruguay in the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Gyan could potentially be presented with an opportunity to redeem himself against the South American side if things go his way, with both countries placed in Group H alongside Portugal and South Korea for the showpiece in the Middle East.
Former GFA president and politician Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is adamant that Gyan, who is the continent's leading scorer at the World Cup with six goals across three tournaments, could still be an asset for Otto Addo's team.
"I still insist we take Asamoah Gyan to the World Cup," Tamakloe told Angel TV.
"We could give him 10 to 15 minutes of playing time each time because I think he can change games.
"He is one person I can trust."

Ghana manager Addo has remained silent on these calls, but since stepping into the team's helm at the beginning of the year, he has focused his efforts on recruiting young overseas stars with Ghanaian lineage, subsequently finding success in persuading Spain-born forward Inaki Williams, among a few others, to represent the four-time African champions.
