The South American champions edged closer to securing spot at next year's World Cup after defeating Peru 1-0 in Buenos Aires on Friday morning.
Lautaro Martinez was the hero on the night, but Messi was not too pleased with Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio's performance.
The Argentine superstar hinted that this has been become a regular occurrence whenever Sampaio's officiates their encounters.
"Hard match, difficult to play. A lot of wind, they were playing deep, leaving little space for us," the Argentine wrote on Instagram.
"The referee always does this when he referees us, as if he does it on purpose. But well, three important points and we're close to our objective."
Lionel Scaloni's men currently sit second on the South American qualifying table after 11 matches and are well on course to qualify for next year's tournament in Qatar.
