On the other side of Manchester, Pep Guardiola sent highly-touted right-back Yan Couto out on loan to Portuguese side Braga for the season, with the player having impressed at Girona in the 2020/21 campaign.
The Brazilian has previously stated that he declined the opportunity to sign for Barcelona and Bayern Munich in order to join the Citizens, and has expressed a desire to break into the first team at the Etihad.
In Italy, Mourinho loaned out two players over the weekend, including Azzurri star Alessandro Florenzi, who has moved to AC Milan on a one-year deal. The fullback spent the 2020/21 season with Paris Saint-Germain, but the French club reportedly chose to not exercise his €9 million (R160 million) option-to-buy clause, and instead signed Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan.
