Turkey attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has officially joined Inter Milan after rejecting a contract extension at AC Milan.
According to Goal, the Turkish international will earn €5 million (R85 million) a season, plus a €1 million (R17 million) bonus, at Inter, which is more than what the Rossoneri were offering him to stay.
"FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Hakan Calhanoglu has joined the Nerazzurri," a statement on Inter's official website read. "The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a deal with the club lasting until 30 June 2024."

The reigning Serie A champions were understood to be keen to sign a creative player as current Nerazzurri playmaker Christian Eriksen's future remains unknown.
The Denmark star has been fitted with a defibrillator after suffering cardiac arrest at the 2020 UEFA European Championship, and may be not be allowed to play in Italy again due to rules regarding devices placed in players' hearts.
Calhanoglu suffered a disappointing early exit from Euro 2020, with Turkey finishing last in group A after three successive defeats. However, following an impressive 2020/21 campaign with the Rossoneri, the 27-year-old has now joined an infamous list of players who have switched San Siro allegiances.
