With the 36-year-old having been linked with moves to former club United and French giants Paris Saint-Germain, two clubs who can seemingly afford his wages, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport has now reported that the Red Devils are planning to offer the player a contract worth £17 million (R337 million) a season.
Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly set to fly to Italy to discuss his client's future with the Serie A giants, who endured a disappointing campaign last season, failing to win the league title for the first time in nine years and being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League at the round of 16 stage.
The forward continued his prolific form in front of goal, though, with 36 strikes across all competitions and ending the season as Serie A's top goalscorer with 29 strikes.
With Anthony Martial having been linked with an exit from the Manchester club, Ronaldo could be the ideal person to take his place and help the Red Devils mount a title challenge in the 2020/21 campaign.
