Manchester United, Liverpool target Ghana teenager

Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly ready to do battle for a highly-courted Ghanaian teenager's signature.

According to SunSport, FC Nordsjaelland winger Kamaldeen Sulemana's performances have caught the Premier League giants' attention.

The player's manager at the Danish club, Flemming Pedersen, has claimed that a host of clubs across Europe, including Ajax Amsterdam, Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique Lyon and AS Monaco, are in the race to secure the 19-year-old's services.

Said to be valued at about £15 million (R295 million), the skilful attacker's impressive displays in Denmark's Superliga also earned him a senior national team call for Ghana at the age of 18, and it seems his current boss would prefer to see him go to the Netherlands next.

"Ajax is perhaps the safe choice where he will definitely get plenty of playing time," Pedersen told TV3 Sport.

"[Manchester] United, Liverpool and others are in the race.

"Well, I also know Kamal so well that when he is pressured, he automatically takes the next step as well. And with the personality and mentality he has, I will never ever say it will be too big a leap, for he is extraordinary.

"I cannot stand here to say that I expect him to be here next season because there is so much talk about him."

Sulemana's 10 goals and eight assists for Nordsjaelland last season helped the club reach the Superliga play-offs.
