FC Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati has officially been promoted to the club's first team, and his release clause has soared dramatically as a result of his new status.
On Wednesday, Barca announced that the 17-year-old Spain international, who had been playing for the senior side since the start of the 2019/20 campaign, had officially been promoted to the club's first team.

As a result of his promotion, Fati's release clause has automatically climbed from €170 million (R3.3 billion) to €400 million (R7.9 billion), as was agreed when he signed a new contract with the club in December last year.
The Guinea-Bissau-born forward will also switch to the No. 22 jersey for the season, which was vacated by Arturo Vidal following the Chile international's transfer to Inter Milan on Tuesday.
