Reigning UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Barcelona for the transfer of midfielder Iván Rakitic, who previously represented the club between 2011 and 2014.
The Croatia international, who famously captained the Andalusian side to the Europa League crown in 2014, returns to the club after six seasons at Barcelona and has signed a new two-year deal until June 2022.
He becomes the second senior player to leave the Catalan giants ahead of the 2020/21 season, after Brazil midfielder Arthur joined Juventus in part of a deal that saw Miralem Pjanic move the other way.
