The 2020/21 LaLiga season kicks off on 12 September 2020 with a host of mouthwatering clashes, including newly crowned UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla's trip to Atletico Madrid and Barcelona's encounter against Elche.
Los Blancos, who are the reigning domestic champions following last season's triumph, will not be in action on the opening weekend after their match against Getafe was postponed, and will instead get their campaign underway with a trip away to Real Sociedad on 20 September.
The fixture release also revealed that the first El Clasico of the season between Real and Barca will take place at the Camp Nou on 25 October, with the reverse fixture scheduled to be played on 11 April 2021 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The upcoming season's derbies, which is arguably the most anticipated fixture in world football, could have a new feel to it amid speculation surrounding Blaugrana star Lionel Messi's future, with the six-time Ballon d'Or winner believed to be on the verge of a dramatic exit from the Catalan giants.
