Barca reclaim top spot thanks to Ramos' own goal

FC Barcelona got back to winning ways in LaLiga after defeating Sevilla 1-0 on Friday evening.

Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal returned to the line-up for Barca following their 2-2 with Mallorca on Tuesday, while former Real Madrid stalwart Sergio Ramos lined-up for the visitors.

Barcelona enjoyed a fluid start and should've gone ahead after Joao Cancelo ran onto Joao Felix's through pass on the shoulder of the area before clattering the crossbar with a powerful close-range shot.

The away outfit came to the fore following a slow start and saw Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen come off his goal-line to court a low cross-cum shot from Dodi Lukebakio.

Ter Stegen was called again on the half-hour mark and turned Lukebakio's first-time shot from a tight angle left of the area behind for a corner-kick.

There were a substitution from the host eight minutes before halftime when Raphinha couldn't carry on after going down on the field and saw Fermin Lopez come on in his place.

Lukebakio went close again a minute after the break with a first-time volley from the far post, but he dragged over following a floated cross.

Barca still had the lion share of chances as Lewandowski's snap shot off a through pass was blocked for a corner before Ilkay Gundogan headed over from the resultant corner-kick.

The match became quite tense at the midway quarter of the second half before Ivan Rakitic's near post header from Erik Lamela's cross narrowly missed target.

However, Sevilla were behind 15 minutes from time as Jules Kounde's at the far post of the area bounced off Ramos and rolled into the net.

Barcelona were able to preserve the lead towards full-time despite pressure from the visitors and confirmed the win to go back to the top of LaLiga.
