Barca save unbeaten run with comeback victory

LaLiga champions FC Barcelona rallied back from two goals down in the last ten minutes to secure a 3-2 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday evening.

Marcos Alonso, Oriol Romeu, Ferran Torres were the Catalans changes compared to the team started in the win over Antwerp, as Gavi, Raphinha and Alejandro Balde dropped out.

The Spanish champions were given a rude awakening and trailed in the opening quarter when Strand Larsen beat the offside trap to send a through pass in the far corner.

Celta remained on the front-foot following the ascendancy and had Iago Aspas and the overlapping Oscar Mingueza play out on the half-spaces.

Furthermore, the Blaugrana were forced to make a change ten minutes to halftime when Frenkie De Jong came across a knock and was rightfully removed for Gavi.

Barca provided a double change ahead of the second half, with Romeu sacrificed for Ronald Araujo before 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal filled in for Alonso.

The title holders looked to hit the ground running minutes after the break courtesy of a rasping shot on the edge of the area by Robert Lewandowski, but he dragged wide.

However, the Sky Blues soaked up the pressure and doubled their lead when Aspas' defence-splitting pass set Anastasios Douvikas in-behind to make it 2-0 with a composed finish.

The Catalans staged the comeback eight minutes from time after a pin-point delivery from Joao Felix released Lewandowski to apply a deft finish in off the crossbar.

Lewandowski came to the Catalans aid again with two minutes to go when he comfortably placed Joao Cancelo's cutback in the bottom-corner.

The fullback reversed roles in the last minute after he sneaked in the area to send a precise ball from Gavi in the near corner, as the Catalans pulled a late smash-and-grab victory.
