LaLiga champions FC Barcelona started the new year on a winning note after rallying from behind to defeat Las Palmas 2-1 on Thursday night.
Jules Kounde, Frenkie De Jong and Ferran Torres came in for Andreas Christensen, Fermin Lopez and Joao Felix for Barcelona, who had new signing Vitor Roque on the bench.
Christensen was on the field after just ten minutes played after Joao Cancelo was forced off with an injury, which also saw Kounde move to right-back .
No reprieve followed a minute apart as Munir El Haddadi steered the host ahead when he guided a low cross into the far corner as a quick switch of play caught the Blaugrana napping.
Barcelona were on the back-foot again and had former striker Sandro Ramirez make the slightest of space to get a shot in and cracked the woodwork before the half-hour mark.
The Catalans' main threat came ahead of the final exchanges of the half with a cutback from Sergi Roberto to Torres following a short run-up, but a defensive clearance denied him.
Not a lot separated the two early in the second half before Raphinha came in from the right to drop a shoulder and cut inside to shave the top of goal.
Barcelona came forward again ten minutes later and levelled when Torres entered late in the box and tucked coolly past goalkeeper Alvaro Valles following a goal-mouth scramble.
The comeback kept the reigning champions in high spirits and threatened to go ahead with a square pass by Torres to Lewandowski, but the host tracked back to clear their lines.
Vitor Roque was sent on for his debut with 12 minutes left to play as he replaced their goal-scorer Torres with matters pretty balanced.
Late drama followed as Barca won a penalty when Ilkay Gundogan went tumbling at the near post box and lined-up to execute the spot-kick, while Las Palmas had Daley Sinkgraven receive his marching orders at the same time.
Barcelona emerged with the full complement of points to return to winning ways and leapfrogged Athletic Bilbao to third spot on the table.
