Real Madrid opened a five-point lead at the top of LaLiga with a 4-0 victory over second-place Girona on Saturday evening.
Aurelien Tchouameni's return from suspension give him an immediate slot back in the line-up with Nacho dropped before Vinicius Junior passed fit after neck problem ruled him out against Atletico Madrid.
Vinicius showed his importance six minutes as he charged in following Federico Valverde's pass and fired in a long-range strike that beat Paulo Gazzaniga hands down.
Madrid were in the mood to quickly double the lead midway through the first half with a speculatively low free-kick from Valverde, but Gazzaniga got gloves behind it.
The second came though ten minutes before halftime as Gazzaniga flapped a free-kick from Vinicius where Jude Bellingham retrieved to round the former and slot into an empty net.
Girona were totally picked apart in the first half and it was no surprise to have them make a change ahead of the second period where Pablo Torre came on for Portu.
Los Blancos, though, were least troubled but extended the lead nine minutes apart after Bellingham latched onto another loose ball from Gazzaniga to tap in from an acute angle.
Vinicius continued to be a menace past 60 minutes as he knocked a loose pass into the path of compatriot Rodrygo to ran in the box and blast well beyond Gazzaniga.
Rodrygo didn't continue playing ten minutes apart after manager Carlo Ancelotti decided to haul him off the park and introduce fellow striker Joselu.
Girona, whose performances have drawn the attention of many this season, gave away a penalty at the death as Couto pulled down Arda Guler.
Fortunately, the spot-kick wasn't converted as substitute Joselu missed but Madrid still marched out victorious.
