Champs Real Madrid off the mark with big win

Real Madrid collected their first win of the season in LaLiga after seeing off Real Valladolid 3-0 on Sunday evening.

Key news for Madrid saw star player Jude Bellingham unavailable due to injury and the exciting Turkish youngster Arda Guler stepped in to replace him.

French captain Kylian Mbappe looked for a perfect start in his home debut nine minutes in with a first-time shot from Antonio Rudiger's lofted ball, but goalkeeper Karl Hein drew a save.

Venezuelan international Darwin Machis came inches to giving the visitors the lead through a teasing shot having pulled a cutback inside the area, but it deflected wide of target.

Los Blancos seemed susceptible on the counter-attack where a couple of instances saw the visitors through none other than Marcos Andre worrying the defensive compartment.

The reigning champions didn't lose momentum and were ahead five minutes in the second half when a low free-kick from Federico Valverde sailed through a body of defenders and hit target.

Valverde remained instrumental for the host having made the breakthrough and enjoyed tremendous runs between defence as well as the attacking phase.

However, superb goalkeeping from Thibaut Courtois a few minutes apart repelled a succession of close-range attempts by Victor Meseguer as the visitors chased a comeback.

Los Blancos, though, were soon on the back-foot after a pass in-behind from Stanko Juric released substitute Raul Moro in on goal but he unfortunately fluffed his lines.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti brought in a double substitution in the last 20 minutes with Brahim Diaz in for Guler and Rodrygo removed for Luka Modric.

Valladolid battled to get any reprieve as the title holders added another two minutes before time when Diaz picked up a long ball from Eder Militao and finished comfortably.

The host weren't done but made it three in additional time as youngster Endrick combined with a ball from Diaz and fired in smartly to open his account for the club, as it finished 3-0.
