FC Barcelona secured a 2-1 victory Sevilla in Xavi Hernandez's final match as manager on Sunday evening.
Pedri, who scored twice off the bench against Rayo Vallecano, was rewarded with a start and replaced Raphinha while Sergi Roberto was sacrificed for Andreas Christensen.
Barcelona were in the lead in the opening 15 minutes through a decent finish at the far post by Robert Lewandowski after getting on the end of Joao Cancelo's cross.
The lead would come under threat over the midway stage of the half as a drop of the shoulder by Dode Lukebakio culminated a curling shot, but Marc-Andre Ter Stegen stood firm.
Parity was restored on the half-hour mark after Youssef En-Nesyri beat the offside trap to get in on the near post and slotted calmly through a diving Ter Stegen.
Barca came close to regain the lead minutes from falling behind as Pedri volleyed off the upright after getting on the end of a loose ball inside the danger area.
Nonetheless, the host enjoyed the strong end to the half in which Lukebakio towered high in the area to head against the upright following a surging cross.
Barcelona manager Xavi, who will be leaving at the end of the season, made a change at halftime where Christensen made way for Oriol Romeu
The Blaugrana were back ahead 12 minutes from the break after Fermin Lopez cut in to the edge of the area and fired in the bottom-corner.
With the tempo pretty slow, the situation picked up steam in the final stages as Adria Pedrosa's curling strike from a clever distance drew a solid save off Ter Stegen.
Former Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz very nearly stole a point for the host late on with a shot on the near side, but he was unable to beat Ter Stegen.
Another former Madrid man in Sergio Ramos went close for the home team too through a free-kick in added time, but he went over and 2-1 it finished to Barcelona.
