FC Barcelona maintained their unbeaten start to the LaLiga season with an entertaining 4-3 win over Villarreal on Sunday evening.
The Catalans were without both of last week's scorers Pedri and Ferran Torres, while Raphinha remains sidelined due to the suspension.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 15th minute when the young Lamine Yamal did down the left before picking out Gavi, who nodded past Filip Jorgensen at the far post.
Two minutes later, the champions would go on to doubl their advantage in fine style as Frenkie de Jong finished off a nice passing move to open his account for the campaign.
After the slow start, Villarreal managed to pull a goal back in the 26th minute when defender Juan Foyth rose above his marker to head home Alejandero Rodriguez's corner.
The home side managed to get back on level terms shortly before the interval when Alfonso Pedraza managed to weave his way into the box before cross for Alexander Sorloth, who made no mistake from close range.
Villarreal then went ahead five minutes after the break as Rodriguez found the back of the net with a neat curling finish after some more good work by Pedraza on the left.
The end-to-end affair continued as Ferran Torres brought the Catalan giants level in the 68th minute with a composed finish, five minutes after coming on for Oriol Romeu.
Three minutes later, Barcelona were in front for the second time in the match when Robert Lewandowksi opened his account for the season with a close-range finish after some good work by Yamine.
Xavi Hernandez's charges managed to see out the closing stages despite a late push from the Yellow Submarine and secured their second win of the season.
