Real Madrid throw-away three goal at Villarreal

Champions Real Madrid threw away a 4-1 lead to draw 4-4 with Villarreal in LaLiga action on Sunday evening.

Real made a handful of changes which included starts to Andriy Lunin, Fran Garcia, Dani Ceballos, Lucas Vazquez, Joselu and Arda Gurler from the emphatic display over Deportivo Alaves.

Guler showed smart instincts in the six-yard area and managed to drag a low ball in the bottom-corner to open the deadlock earlier on.

Joselu made it two on the hour mark after rising highest in the danger area to get on the end of Vazquez's pin-point cross to head beyond a sprawling Jorgensen.

Villarreal reduced the advantage minutes thereafter with a powerful header from point-blank range by Alexander Sorloth, but Vazquez restored the two-goal advantage seconds later with a one-touch finish.

Turkish rising star Guler secured a first half brace on the stroke of halftime when he connected with Vazquez' smart layoff to get goal-side and finished with supreme composure.

Sorloth came good for his team though in the second half as he struck three times in the matter of minutes to leave the spoils shared in the end.

FC Barcelona 3-0 Rayo Vallecano

FC Barcelona claimed a successive win to continue their strong end to the season after crushing Rayo Vallecano 3-0 in the penultimate game of the campaign.

With nothing really play for, the Catalans put out a strong line-up which comprised of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in the forward positions.

Lewandowski hit the opener with just three minutes played after combining with Yamal's assist to get in space and nestle the back of the net in fine style.

Barca continued to pull further away albeit late on as teen sensation Pedri applied a one-touch to control a loose ball following a rebound and finished smartly.

Pedri bagged a brace in fine style when he ran in-behind to bring Ronald Araujo's lofted pass under control to send a deft finish beyond Stole Dimitrievski.

Atletico Madrid 1-4 CA Osasuna

Atletico Madrid had a day to forget in the penultimate weekend in the Spanish top-flight following a 4-1 hammering by CA Osasuna.

The visitors stunned the host when Raul Garcia broke the deadlock before the half-hour mark before Aimar Oroz added to the equation past the interval.

Atleti, who were battling to find rhythm throughout the contest, chased shadows, were able to pull a lifeline ten minutes past the interval through Alvaro Morata.

There were no letting up from the host though as Osasuna added a third through none other than Garcia who in the process completed a brace.

Atleti were totally cut to shreds late on when the visiting team bagged a fourth with minutes to go when Lucas Torro finished off Pablo Ibanez's assist.
