Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on signing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations winner Ismael Bennacer ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
Following the club's LaLiga triumph last season, Los Blancos have enjoyed a quiet transfer window and are yet to make any additions to their title-winning squad.
That position could change in the coming weeks after manager Zinedine Zidane reportedly asked the club to enquire about the services of Bennacer, who currently plies his trade with AC Milan.
According to French publication Le Buteur, Zidane is hoping to capitalise on Milan's apparent interest in Brahim Diaz in order to acquire the signature of the Algeria international, who was named the 2019 AFCON Player of the Tournament during his nation's successful campaign.

The 22-year-old's performances in Egypt earned him a move to Milan, where he became one of the standout performers in the 2019/20 Serie A season, and has since been courted by the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
It is believed the France-born midfielder has a €50 million (R992 million) release clause in his contract, which Real could activate once James Rodriguez and Dani Ceballos have been sold.
