Jorge Messi, who is also the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's agent, met with Barcelona on Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to bring the ongoing dispute between his son and the club to an amicable resolution.
Following the meeting, Argentine journalist Martin Arevalos of TyC Sports – the publication that broke the news of Messi's transfer request first – claimed that Barca pleaded for Messi to stay at the club and that the 33-year-old now appears likely to honour that request.
