According to reports in France, the 30-year-old was among a group of players who were informed they would no longer have a future at the Parc des Princes during a Luis Enrique and Luis Campos-led overhaul, which has seen the likes of Neymar, Mauro Icardi, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Leandro Paredes, among others, all leave permanently.
Saudi Pro League clubs Al Hilal and Al Ahli were reportedly interested in signing the 2020 UEFA European Championship winner, but could not reach an agreement with PSG before the Saudi transfer window closed last week.
At Al Arabi, Verratti will reunite with his former club teammates Rafinha and Abdou Diallo, who swapped Ligue 1 for the Qatar Stars League last year and this year, respectively, and his debut appearance in the United Arab Emirates could come on 24 September against Al Rayyan.
The Italy international made more than 400 appearances for the French giants prior to his exit, winning 30 trophies in the process.
