France forward Kylian Mbappe has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he will not be renewing his contract with the club.
L'Equipe has reported that the former Monaco prodigy has made the decision to honour the remaining year of his current deal, with the intention of leaving as a free agent in July 2022.
It is further claimed that Mbappe aims to maintain a positive relationship with the club by not forcing a move in this transfer window.

This news would be a big blow for PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is said to be looking to bolster the team with transfer targets Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma in an attempt to convince Neymar Jr and his strike partner to extend their deals in Paris, with both contracts expiring at the end of 2021/22 campaign.
According to L'Equipe, Al-Khelaifi has personally taken the responsibility to negotiate Mbappe's renewal as he was not happy with sporting director Leonardo's approach to the contract negotiations.
He reportedly felt Leonardo was too focused on the financial benefits the striker would receive, rather than speaking about PSG's project and potential success.
The 22-year-old endured a difficult spell at the 2020 UEFA European Championships, and missed the crucial penalty in France's round of 16 clash with Switzerland that ultimately sent Les Bleus home.
However, the forward ended the 2020/21 season with his best-ever goal return, scoring 42 goals and creating 11 assists in just 47 matches across all competitions for Les Parisiens.
