Ligue 1 match report AS Monaco v Strasbourg

Islam Slimani netted a brace as winless AS Monaco drew 2-2 with Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.

Bafana Bafana international Lebogang Mothiba returned to the Starsbourg line-up after coming off the bench in the Europa League defeat on Thursday.

It was the visitors who broke the deadlock on 11 minutes as Sliminai netted his first goal of the season after being picked out by Gelson Martins.

Strasbourg were awarded a penalty six minutes before the break, which Kenny Lala converted although there joy was short-lived as Slimani restored Monaco's lead a minute later.

Mothiba's afternoon came to an end at the start of the second half as he made way Ivorian winger Kevin Lucien Zohi. The South African is yet to score this season.

The hosts managed to bag the equaliser in the 84th minute thanks to Adrien Thomasson's first Ligue 1 goal of the season.
