Ligue 1 match report Bordeaux v Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain bounced from the shock loss to Reims after defeating Bordeaux 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Stade Matmut-Atlantique.

Paris Saint-Germain boss, Thomas Tuchel rang the changes from the side that lost against Stade Reims, with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Marco Verratti and Idrissa Gueye recalled to the line-up, while Kylian Mbappe was named on the bench after missing five games due to a hamstring injury.

The Parisians started on the front foot, with Di Maria and Neymar combining well upfront but they could not yet carve out clear opportunities.

However, the game was opening up after 20 minutes and Di Maria had a chance to give PSG the lead just before the half-hour mark after following a long ball over the defence but his attempted lob was blocked by goalkeeper Benoit Costil.

The visitors were having the momentum in the closing phase of the first half and Neymar had a good chance to give Tuchel's men a 1-0 lead heading to the break, after Thomas Meunier delivered a teasing cross inside the area but his header missed slightly wide and the first stanza ended goalless as a result.

PSG were creating chances early in the second stanza but they just could not find the finishing touches and Tuchel eventually brought on Mbappe from the bench on the hour-mark, for Pablo Sarabia, to add firepower upfront.

Mbappe's introduction turned things around for the Parisians, as ten minutes later the Frenchman raced clear on the right side of the box and delivered a square ball from the byline and Neymar tapped in from close range to finally give PSG A 1-0 lead.

Mbappe almost made it 2-0 for Tuchel's army in the last ten minutes after going through in the centre of the box but his chip was parried away by Costil and PSG were finding chances to wrap up the game in the closing phases but Costil was brilliant in goal and in the end 1-0 was enough, to see them open a two-point gap at the top of the table with 18 points.
