A single change in Ander Herrera showed from PSG's triumph over FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League last 16 first-leg in midweek, with Marco Verratti dropped.
It was Monaco who got off to a dream start six minutes in when Sofiane Diop charged down a deep cross from Ruben Aguilar to head beyond the reach of goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
PSG nearly levelled within a minute from a long ball into the area, but Mauro Icardi volleyed over the top after bringing the supply under control en-route to taking aim.
Navas denied the visiting side a second close to the half-hour mark from a free header in the area by Axel Disasi following a corner-kick with PSG battling to clear their lines.
The Parisans regrouped and launched another threat ten minutes to the break through a long-range strike by Idrissa Gueye, but the Senegalese watched his effort sail beyond target.
Monaco upped their tally five minutes in the second half when Guillermo Maripan got on the end of a through pass in the area to slam home.
A double substitution from PSG followed 55 minutes in, as Rafinha replaced Gueye and Verratti filled in for Herrera.
Moise Kean should've halved the tally and brought the host a lifeline with a smart header, but the Italian striker headed straight at Benjamin Lecomte.
The visitors carved more openings late in the match, but their front men in particular Kevin Volland failed to make the most of the opportunities.
However, the two goals in either half proved enough to claim victory and revive their title pursuit with the league doubler over PSG.
